Full of glitches March 25, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We had to return/exchenge this item 4 times due to glitches (the clock always lagged behind and 2 out of 4 times the cd player skipped.) Finally, after the 4th exchange, we just sent it to Audiovox to have the clock repaired and it came back to us with the SAME PROBLEM!
The original seller (6th Ave Electronics) finally told us they would give us a full refund of our money including shipping.
Best unit I could find - works good. January 9, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have had this unit about a month now, works good. Much slimmer than the Sony and Poloroid versions, and for less money. Came with all the connectors and mounting hardware you need. Has Audio out and A/V in ports - not all competitors do! Smooth, easy to understand operation. The MP3 CD/DVD option is a bit hard to use, but DVD, tuner, and regular music CD's work fine. Two minor complaints - internal and external speakers cannot be used at the same time, and the internal speakers are a bit week for a loud kitchen. Dish washers, running water, chewing all make the internal speakers hard to hear. I ended hooking up a set externalally powered speakers - now it rocks.
No good for TV reception. September 7, 2006 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
I purchased this to replace a large, B&W TV that sits on our kitchen counter so the unit's primary use was to be a TV. After getting it installed, it would play one CD/DVD but not another. I realized that one of the installation screws to top mount the screen was in too tight making it come into contact with the moving parts of the DVD/CD player... loosing the screw fixed that. However, I was not able to get anything even of the lowest quality for TV reception. I tried numerous antennas and gizmos from Radio Shack with no luck -- audio was fine but no picture, even switch from "air" to "cable" mode. I don't believe there is any type of TV/FM/AM tuner built into the machine. If you want a very glorified undercounter DVD player, this your machine... if you want TV, better to buy a small, portable. By the way, Amazon was great in accepting this poor quality item as a return!
