 great picture and sound August 17, 2008
I was looking for a TV to watch videos and this was an excellent choice. I'm really blown away be how great VCR's appear. I also bought a Sony uoconverting DVD player. It's all a winner especially for the price.

The only reason I am slamming this rating is to catch people's attention. It's a great monitor/TV but it DOES NOT MOUNT TO THE WALL! I bought one at my nearby Cosco. Even Cosco assumed it was wall mountable. It was displayed on the TV aisle, not the computer monitor aisle, and they had wall mount bracket arms for sale right next to it. Samsung made a big mistake not making their smaller "Touch of Color" monitors wall mountable. They should not assume that everyone will set it on a desk. I wanted to mount mine to the wall in my master bathroom suite. I still will, just not this one.

I had to return the first monitor back to store in one day. It was defective out of the box. The screen would continuosly blink and wouldnt show any image. After returning the first one, I got another one same model. The monitor and TV functions are great. It has two HDMI inputs of which one is conveniently located to the side of the monitor along with a head phone jack. The HD picture quality is great although not as sharp as the 22" Vizio that I returned for not having a digital dvi input. Samsung claims that it supports 1080P although there is no mention of it on the box and product documentation that came with it. The only problem that I have with this one is that when being used in computer monitor mode, it takes anywhere from 4-30 seconds to turn back on when my laptop turns off the screen and back on. This gets really annoying if you want to look up something quickly and your monitor takes a random amount of time to turn back on. It is not an issue with my laptop as my laptop screen turn on almost immediately. Hopefull Samsung will release a simple firmware upgrade to fix this issue.

Unlike nearly every other LCD flat panel display from Samsung or anybody else, this model has NO OPTION for wall mounting, no standard VESA or nonstandard holes in the rear enclosure at all, and no accessory available to support wall or swing-arm mounting. Pretty dumb design for a top-of-the-line manufacturer like Samsung.

I ordered this LCD monitor for my son to use in his bedroom as a TV. I thought it would be neat to have if he wanted to hook it up to his laptop or a desktop later. The picture is awesome, the clarity of the colors are right up there with any of the other stand alone HD televisions we had looked at. This is truly a great monitor that thinks it is a TV. We also have a Samsung 52 inch DLP, and the picture on this one gives it a run for it's money.
